Thursday 23rd December 2010: Wikileaks Is Back!

TWOP is delighted to announce the return of Wikileaks for British websurfers. They can be found at http://mirror.wikileaks.info/.

Monday 6th December 2010: Long Live Wikileaks!

The furore following recent revelations on Wikileaks clearly shows how democratic Western society is - that is, not democratic at all. It is not as if the leaks constitute any actual threat to anyone's national security - no such claim has been made. No, Wikileaks' site services have been shut down because its revelations are an embarrassment to important people, and for no other reason.
TWOP wholeheartedly supports Wikileaks' crusade for genuine freedom of information, rather than the ConDem spin-doctor mix of 'openness' that is freedom's poor substitute in Britain. At the same time, we look forward to the coming day when Wikileaks will no longer be necessary in Britain - when we have a true-democracy Gnu government that doesn't feel the need to keep secrets from its people.

Tuesday 19th October 2010: Bank without a clue

Bank of England governor Mervyn King today confirmed what TWOP has long known: that having created the credit crunch and subsequent economic crisis, the bankers still have no idea what to do to make things better.

King has 'hinted' that he might try another round of 'quantitative easing' - the electronic version of printing lots of money and throwing it in the air - as a way to spur growth.

Two things are, however, clear. First, that the High Street banks are far more likely to do what they have done up to now; thank the government, take the money, and sit on it. (See the Wikipedia article.)

Second, that it is as John Kenneth Galbraith once wrote: the economic experts are good at sounding as if they know what they're doing, but they don't. Do you want to keep trusting them?

Friday 24th September 2010: The Queen can't afford her gas bill - can she please have a grant?

The unbelievable news that Liz Windsor, aka The Queen, applied for a heating grant should have caused rioting in the streets by now. It is a sad sign of public apathy that this has not happened, and a rare sign of sense that the grant was not, well, granted.

That it was applied for at all shows the contempt Mrs W has for 'her subjects', that is, you and me and everyone else whose taxes provide her with a fortune in income. And she still can't afford to heat her home(s) ... ?

TWOP has no policy on the continuation, or otherwise, of the monarchy after we take power. But come on, people ... does this make no impression on you?

Thursday 22nd April 2010: Britain is seized by a convulsion of apathy over the General Election

Let's face it, nobody really cares whether Gloomy Gordon gets another throw of the dice (highly unlikely); no-one really believes that Bikeman Dave will be an improvement. And Nicey Nick? Nah. Can't see him at Number 10. Just can't see it.

The fact is, behind all the hype and false enthusiasm, everyone in Britain knows that the election will change nothing. "They're all the same!" - how many times have you heard that? How many times have you said it? Don't you long for something new?

Well, Gnu (formerly RedCap09) is something new. After the Revolution, you - the taxpayers of Great Britain - will have the power to decide how the Government spends the money you work for, the money you pay as tax. What could possibly be wrong with this?

"So, how many candidates have you got standing?", I hear you ask. Sadly, none; not this time. We don't have the money and we don't have the members!

That's why TWOP was formed - to raise money to form a Gnu party, to train TWOP members to stand as candidates, and to prepare them to function effectively as MPs, so that they can pave the way for the government they deserve - the taxpayers of Britain, deciding for themselves how their tax money will be spent.

What we have right now is not democracy, but electoral tyranny. What we want is for the people to control the government - we want them to be able to decide online. You can join us and help make this happen, or support us through Easyfundraising and Easysearch; or you can laugh, and
do nothing, and let the electoral tyrants take everything, and create havoc. To put it another way: you can DO, or they can TEACH.

The choice is yours ...

Friday 23rd April 2010: Papers and TV still flogging the dead electoral horse

Public interest in the General Election still about zero, the mass media proves its bias by portraying the latest episode of the long-running soap as in some way decisive. Peter Snow-clones tell us breathlessly about the latest 'development' ... hordes of zombie-like voters shuffle towards voting booths to vote for the party they support because that's what they always do. Tradition is a wonderful thing ...

Zombies: get a life; join TWOP. And, Snowclones, get out your swingometer and - swing it somewhere else.

TWOP blog latest: People, What Did You Expect?

Get what you want - get what you pay for!

TWOP believes that anyone paying any form of tax in Britain is paying for government. Therefore, in a capitalist society where you have a right to do what you want with what you pay for, the government should be an executive body without the power to set policy. The decisions should be made on an online forum, so that all British taxpayers have a voice.

We are working for True Democracy. Only the people, only the taxpayers, should decide what their government does.

If you agree with us, then it's time to start making it happen.

Do it now!
